A mixed race nation, the principal feature of the people of Cape Verde is its "morabeza" (friendliness). This is a permanent invitation to discover the different forms of expression of their idiosyncrasies, in particular through music, dance, arts and crafts and cuisine. In the field of music, the country is proud of its mornas and coladeiras, batuque and funana and other rhythms. Cape Verdian cuisine has a variety of fish, meat and shellfish with Cachupa being the favourite dish.
