Cape Verde Schools in Cape Verde
The Cape Verde islands are looking towards the future. The government have continually expressed their desire to bring education standards in the Cape Verde islands into line with that of Europe. There are Sal schools, Boa Vista Schools, Sao Vicente Schools, San Antao Schools, Sau Nicolau schools, Maio schools, Santiago schools and Fogo schools which all offer excellent schooling facilities. The education system is free in the Cape Verde islands; they also use incentives such as free school meals transport to guarantee attendance. Currently the attendance rate for children between the ages of 7 and 16 is 85% and rising.
Such is the commitment to education that the cape verdian government have built a univercioty in praia, santiago calle The Jean Piaget University.
The Jean Piaget University is the only university in the cape verde islands and is and has been open for a little over 3 years. Quite impressively in the short 3 years since opening the university has accepted over 2000 students. The univesity has over 25 degree level courses available.
