Exploring Fogo
Volcano Trip
Fogo is an island that is made for exploration and no holiday is complete without a visit to the world famous volcano. There are guides that are available to help you reach the crater. The crater is approximately 500m in diameter and 180m deep. The climb of 1,200m takes approximately 4 hours; the trip back down will take about 2 hours. Although we do advise that anyone trying the assent should be in good physical shape. Medical and rescue services are limited so be careful.
Guided Horseback Tour
Horseriding is available to all for those who wish to explore the island of Fogo or perhaps the volcano on horseback. Riding equipment will be provided.
Hiking
There are a number of qualified hiking guides that will take you on an off-road voyage of exploration. Remember to bring your camera.
