Whether or not you are interested in Hiking or cycling the mountainous landscape of Santo Antao is a must see. You can take advantage of the ferry that travels from the port of Mindelo, Sao Vicente to the rustic port of Porto Novo, Santo Antao. It is a fantastic day out and it will only tale approximately an hour on the ferry.
Music and Festivals
Many people visit the shores of Sao Vicente every year specifically for the music. The islands Brazilian influence inspires colorful music and carnivals that are unique to the island. If possible try to time your visit to coincide with one of the many festivals. The best times to visit Sao Vicente are in February and august, Party Time!!!!
Sao Pedro
A small village located about 10 kilometers from Mindelo. Famous for it's beach, the beach boasts incredible conditions for water sports. The constant high winds make the beach a heaven for kite surfers and windsurfers.
Monte Verde
Monte Verde is the highest point of Sao Vicente. The mountain rises to a height of 774 meters and is in sharp contrast to the islands flat surroundings. Monte Verde offers magnificent unspoilt views of Sao Vicente and on a clear day you can see each of the other 9 Cape Verde islands
